How a School Uniform Program Works

From a one-page outline to uniforms in students' hands

  1. Approve a one-page program outline

Tell us your dress code, colors, and crest. We return a one-page outline — kit tiers, primary pant, online store yes/no, optional fundraiser add-on, target launch date — that a principal or business manager can approve in minutes.

  2. We source garments and proof the crest

We lock exact style numbers, supplier colors, and size charts for every fit (Young Men's and Ladies'), then send a free digital proof of your embroidered crest before anything is produced.

  3. Your private online school store goes live

Families choose a Complete Uniform Package or individual items, pick sizes with a size guide, and pay by card at a secure Shopify checkout. Pricing and inventory are validated on our server, so every order is correct before it reaches production.

  4. Made to order, delivered, and supported

Orders are embroidered to order in about 3 weeks, then picked up free at school or shipped home for $9.95. Families start size exchanges themselves within 30 days of shipment — no phone calls to the front office.

What Every Program Includes

The school approves the standard; we run the rest

Tiered uniform kits

Essentials and Signature tiers share one color standard and crest, so a classroom looks uniform even when families choose different price points. Kits are priced as a package and cost less than buying the pieces individually.

Embroidered school crest

Your crest is embroidered on every polo and crewneck. We proof the artwork once, then hold the digitized file so replacements and next year's kits match exactly.

Full size range, two fits

Young Men's and Ladies' fits across the size range your student body needs, with size charts taken from the garment actually shipped. Ladies' bottoms include pant and skirt options.

Individual replacement items

Lost a polo in March? Families reorder single pieces at whole-dollar prices from the same store, shipped straight to home — no mid-year group order to coordinate.

School pickup or home delivery

Packages ride a free bulk delivery to the school for pickup, or ship to a family's address for $9.95. Individual items ship home.

Returns and size exchanges handled by us

Complimentary size exchanges within 30 days of shipment on unworn items with tags. Families start an exchange online with their order number; the school is never in the middle.

Staff apparel and spirit wear

The same store can carry faculty polos and quarter-zips, honor-roll shirts, and game-day tees — all in the school standard.

School-friendly procurement

Bulk school orders are accepted on purchase order or P-Card from a Brooklyn-based, NYC M/WBE-certified supplier. Family orders are paid by card, so the school fronts nothing for the store.

School Uniform Program Questions, Answered

What is a school uniform program, and how is it different from ordering uniforms?

A program is the whole system, not a one-time order: a locked garment standard (styles, colors, crest placement), tiered kits priced for families, a private online store where families and the school order, production and embroidery, delivery to school or home, and returns and size exchanges handled by 9tofive Supply. The school approves the standard once and then stops managing uniforms.

How much does a school uniform kit cost?

In a current NYC high school program, a six-garment Complete Uniform Package (3 embroidered polos, 1 embroidered crewneck, 2 bottoms) starts at $162 for the Essentials tier, before shipping and tax. Your school's pricing depends on garments, tiers, and quantities; we price it in the program outline.

Do parents order directly, or does the school place one bulk order?

Either, or both. Most programs run on a private online store where each family orders sizes and pays by card at a secure Shopify checkout. Schools can also place bulk orders by purchase order or P-Card — for example, a starter set for new students or staff apparel.

How long does it take to launch a program?

We schedule the store build around your target launch date once the school approves the one-page outline and crest proof. Uniforms are made to order in about 3 weeks after each family pays, so we recommend opening the order window at least 4–6 weeks before the first day of school.

What garments do you use for school uniforms?

School-grade, workwear-durable styles: Port Authority Core Classic Pique and EZCotton polos, Gildan Softstyle and Sport-Tek Drive Fleece crewnecks, Classroom pants and skirts, and the Dickies 874 work pant. We pull style numbers, colors, and size charts from the supplier catalog so what families see is what ships.

How do size exchanges and returns work?

Families start a size exchange or return themselves online using their order number. Size exchanges are complimentary within 30 days of the ship date on unworn items with tags. Embroidered polos and crewnecks are exchanged for size rather than refunded; pants and skirts can be exchanged or returned for a refund if unworn with tags.

Is 9tofive Supply a certified minority- or women-owned business?

Yes. 9tofive Supply (9tofive LLC) is a Brooklyn, NY business certified by the City of New York as an M/WBE through NYC Small Business Services, and is a registered SupplierGateway vendor. We accept purchase orders, P-Cards, and net terms from schools and agencies.

Can the store also sell staff apparel, spirit wear, or raise funds?

Yes. The same private store can carry faculty polos and quarter-zips, honor-roll and student-leadership shirts, and game-day spirit wear. Schools may also add a small optional per-item amount to family prices that flows to a school fund — set in the program outline.
